It goes without saying that one’s mood can affect one’s opinions of a city or a country. As a result, this can result in biases, biases that are normally not revealed during the normal process of writing an article for the newspaper or selling pictures for a website. It is generally believed that a professional ignores his emotions and puts out an unbiased piece of writing every time.
Although it is our goal to avoid bias, it is impossible to completely eliminate. To allow people to make an informed reading of our pieces, we have included an “Emotion Colour Bar”. During article submission, a writer indicates his emotions which are then translated by a custom piece of software into a colour based on certain colour-to-emotion articles we read during the development of the website. Each colour indicates a range of emotion, important because it is often very difficult to distill various states of mind into one emotion.
